Congratulations!

If you're reading this, you have taken the first step in finding out more about this amazing program geared toward your child. So now your wondering what you'll be getting your child, and yourself, into right? Rest assured...It will be more rewarding, fun, and valuable for you and your child then you could have ever imagined. Just like any other extra curricular activity there are a few things that your child's team will need your support with. All we ask is that you help out with one of the following:

bullet

Co-Manager—There are three roles for co-managers: Main Challenge, Instant Challenge, & Admin

bullet

Skill Mentor—Come to a meeting and teach your child's team a skill (sewing, welding, building, etc)

bullet

Chauffeur—Help to get your child's team to meetings, instant challenge events, etc.—occasionally

bullet

Provide snacks for practices (this is important so the cost is shared among all of the team members and not just the managers or meeting hosts)

bullet

Provide creative supplies (extra things from around your house that your child's team could use for their challenges/props/sets)

bullet

Store theatrical props at your home

bullet

Host pre-season party for your child's team

bullet

Host post-season party for your child's team

bullet

Help out at one of the fundraising events

bullet

Help out at a tournament (usually 1 to 2 hour shift)

bullet

Take practice and tournament photos as well as video to share with the group.

Delano DI Introduces...Team Manager Advisors & New Web Tools – Just for DI Managers!
The greatest part about joining Delano DI and/or being a Team Manager of a Delano DI team is that Delano is the only city in the state that has its own Advisory Team & Web Site filled with Manager tips & tools, to hold your hand through each part of the season.

This Advisory Team consists of five Advisors who have all been Team Managers or DI Coordinators for at least 6 years. And...each of these advisors has coached a team that has gone on to compete at the "Global" level (Against kids from 47 US states & 15 countries.)

They are available to assist new teams and Team Managers with: explaining how it all works, finding the resources and supplies you need, ways to work out schedules and timing within your teams, answering questions regarding the guidelines of various challenges, showing how to integrate instant challenges into your meetings, and staying on-task. It is our goal to help all teams feel they have had a successful season and a great time!

Technical Advisor, Jeff Harris, will help you find a place to build props & sets, show your team how to build props & sets, and help you gain access to some of the larger tools/items that your team needs to build their props & sets.

Instant Challenge Advisor, Scott Dallmann, is available to come to one of your first team meetings and help you get acclimated to the concept of "Instant Challenge." Scott will show up with one of these challenges ready to show to you and your team then leaves you with key tips on how to practice "Instant Challenges" with your team. He even brings the supplies for the example challenge!

DI Coordinator, Nancy Stellrecht, is the one to contact with any questions regarding team guidelines, paperwork, and other various details associated with this great program.

Each of these folks have years of experience in each of the types of Team challenges that DI puts out annually and they are excited to answer your questions, anytime. Just ask them!

These advisors have come together to help heighten awareness of this program and to lend support to new teams and new team managers throughout the season.
